Time to take a deep breath and savour the moment before the action begins…

Hola!  How was this past week for you?I am getting on a plane to CHA tomorrow and my life can not get any crazier (oopss!! I shouldn’t have said that!). But I am enjoying it and  I am happy that I will  get to see all my friends and participate in a few booths as I was asked to introduce some projects here and there.  Also, I will be participating on the first Canadian MEGA WORKSHOP organized by CCHA where many Canadian Manufacuturers will showcase their products while offering original classes to participants. It is going to be great!!!

Lately, to downsize my stress I have been taking  pictures, enjoying the pleasure of “clicking” my week-ends away in the presence of my children. The opportunities for great pictures offered while they behave mischievously are amazing.  I got a new camera in December and I feel I got my life back since then!!  I haven’t realized how much I missed not taking pictures with my own camera but now… I AM LOVING to be the photographer I am again!.

The image below is my dauhgter, taking a break from playing and being loud (I wonder where/who does she get it from? hi hi hi). She is a little model… look,  she has even made it to my blog’s friend Sarah today!!  THANK YOU SARAH!! you are amazing and I can’t wait to see you in LA.

Well… after this 5 minute break (without yogurt in my case) to write the blog I am off to continue with my crazy day!

Life is great!

Hola! It has been a long time since my last post and now is 2011 all of a sudden!!! What is up for today?  just my daughter’s smile and me smiling back, happy to have my family. How did you start your 2011?

It is great to be back!! see you soon.

October post!

Hello!

I know that my last post was in September so I didn’t want to go without at least one post in October.  After a busy Summer and hectic back to school I felt exhausted and decided to slow down a little bit to devote some time to my family. Don’t you feel like after Thanksgiving the year just goes flying away incredible fast?    Sometimes is good to stop just a little to get energized and go back with a lot more organization and enthusiasm, making every little task more meaningful and exciting.

Since I have my children, Halloween is a season I look forward to get ready for. I am not a fan of the candy, but the costumes, the decorations and the playful feeling of just being allowed to get silly and get away with it! Well… we have started celebrating Halloween since last week and we are enjoying every excuse to play dress up.

Here is a picture of my LOVE lady bug and Mr. Batman before they got inside their daycare and some pumpkins we carved last week (I didn’t know they could get terrible rotten after a few days of being carved so next time we will wait a bit longer… oooops)

Enjoy the celebrations!! See you soon,

Back to work!!!

Hi everybody!

How are you? I am recovering… after CHA, I am still exhausted but most of all I missed my children… they are little, cute and cuddly and we all needed some quality time. I had had my share of  “bubu kisses” and “nap time hugs” last week but I am still short on some more …. well… is time to go back to work and make up for lost time.  This week I will be answering e-mails and re-organizing work to come back on full speed next Monday.  Today I wanted to share with you the reason behind my silence: my babies (although my son screams that he is not a baby anymore, he will always be one for me).

Here is my little helper doing some work around the house…

Working with a smile is always more productive!

Will you help me this much when you have a girlfriend, many centuries from now?

And what is the little princess doing while all the work is being done?

Running free and wild!!! and chocolate in my face.

So… taking them back to Daycare was a difficult moment for all of us, but necessary if I wanted to get something done around the house/ my work.  I am sure all mothers out there will understand what am I talking about.

It was so hard for me to take the children back to Daycare after a lot of fun together... On Monday we got in late for their daily walk and I had a chance to see the group "marching in". Look at my little one at the end of the group... such a tinny cutie little thing. I wonder how long will she stay this "petite".

I am also eager to start sharing with you the new Kiki Art collections and some other juice stuff that I am “cooking” behind the curtains but everything will be reveal in time. And I am owing you (among so many other thing) my CHA review.  Stay connected and come back for more… you will like it!

Day #3 Kiki Art Sneak Peeks for the Summer and another Freebie

As a child, have you ever wonder how Santa Claus was able to deliver presents around the world in just one night? I think I have figured it out!! He uses the latest and most efficient system of transportation. And to prove it I have a picture of him and his dear friend Rudolph making deliveries in a remote beach near the Pacific.  Now you believe me?

I am very proud  and happy because these collections are very different and unique, specially the Christmas one.  I love to imagine the most diverse scenarios and draw them… if you could only see my sketch book (is like the diary of a crazy person). And lately I have been drawing a lot. These next 3 collections are different from the ones I have done before… the papers and alpha stickers are simple and easy to combine but the stickers and stamps… I just liberated my imagination there!!!  and I hope you will all enjoy it!

I think that many of you are liking the Freebies in some of my posts. I will try (not promise) but try… to offer you one once a week. But because this week is special you get one today too! let me know how you like it and show me what you did with it later. Grab away!

Have a great day… I will continue posting tomorrow (I kind of like it … to get the habit of posting)… I will do it more, only if you come and visit!!!

And the Sneak Peeks had begun!

This week is being a great ride for me. Before CHA I have so much to do and haven’t even begin with a few of the tones of items in my list.  Today the different Kiki Art Design team member blogs are showing Sneak Peeks of Kiki Art new collections… I always like to share the excitement with the people that are helping me present the products to you so that is why we are doing it that way. But I forgot I am also part of my own team, right?

So, no more waiting … here it is the first Sneak peek!!!

And I decided to put an exclusive Sneak peek plus a gift for you… is a digital stamp that you can grab and use.  Please, just tell people where you got it and send them back to our blogs and website, most important make sure you tell your local Scrapbook Store you really “need” this new Kiki Art collections… I can assure you, you and them won’t be disappointed!!!

See you tomorrow with more!!

Preparation for National Scrapbook Day and some culture from Quebec

Today is Saturday… nap time so i get  some time off to get to work/play with my Makiki,  that is my Mac Computer. And yes,  I have always given names to my computers and other machinery that I work with.  I figured that since I spend so much time with them I should treat them on a personal level, don’t you agree. ha ha ha  Do you do that to? How do you call your computer?

In a week I will be taking next Saturday to crop ALL DAY with my dearest friends, the ones that have lead me to the path where I am today. I am choosing and preparing the pictures I will bring with me and a list of projects I want to accomplish that day.  Plus, I am preparing the materials to introduce two workshops at the CHA Super SHOW in Chicago this summer.

Back to my pictures… I have just found a few that I like very much and I want to share with you. They are my children, what a shocker! .. ha ha ha, yes… I love to have my children as the center of most of my work specially when they look happy. In these images  they are having fun with music at a Sugar Shack (in French “CABANA SUCRE”).  The pictures were taken by my friend Janic since my camera is still out of order.. (Thanks Janic and argghhhhh camera!)  The season to go to these places in the province of Quebec (an experience not to be missed!!!) is almost over so we will have to wait until next year to go again.

The instruments featured on the pictures are “musical spoons”… I really loved them and t he sound they make is very cute. I was searching on the internet to learn more about them and this is the place I found: http://www.caronlecuyer.com/en/

Little quebecoise musicians performing

"Look mom... I am ready to rock this place with this spoon!"

"I think I have this spoon business under control"

I can hear somebody getting up… nap time is over and so is my break! see you later…

Getting ready to BLOG HOP… SCOTCH!!

HOLA, BONJOUR or Hi there!

Lately I have been designing so much that while I am driving I see birds, butterflies and little people flying  and dancing inside my car… is that a bad sign?

I am very excited because I have such great friends that will be sharing with me the fun of my very first BLOG HOP with KIKI ART. The difference is that I have decided to name it after a game that I played when I was a little girl… and found out that many little girls (just like me) have played all around the world. In English Speaking countries they call it HOPSCOTCH, in my home country they call it RAYUELA and in France MARELLE… and  is fun, because I know it has many many names and many different ways to play it but in the end is the same game. I find that fascinating because culture has had its influence on it but the essence remains intact. Do you know about this game? tell me how did you call it? Did you play it often? I would love to know!!!

Another ingredient to this event, at the KIKI ART blog, is that we will also be learning about different non-profit organizations that work to make a difference. I have observed that in our CRAFT Community there is a tendency to think a lot about “the other” and trying to make things better. No wonder so many crops for hope and fund raising events to favor a certain cause… I love to be part of that!! Many of you know that I have worked in non-profit organizations all my life and with Kiki Art I haven’t achieve my goals in relation to that YET… but I am getting closer and that is making me truly happy.

Well… here is the first announcement for the KIKI ART BLOG HOP…. more fun stuff to come and sneak peeks of the gifts I will be offering in this blog (THREE lucky winners will get something from me!!).

HOLA world!

Hello! This is my first post at my very own personal blog!

This blog is about my passions, my love for life and some humble reflections.

I was once told that one has to keep a balance between living and writing about it.  Equilibrium is always difficult to obtain, specially for someone like me.  I am passionate, I have an excessive amount of interests and I have to much that I want to put in writing, scrapbook, record, learn, read, experiment, see, create, etc…  with so little time to do it!!!

My passion: MY FAMILY

May be having a blog will be the best way to accomplish the task of taking day by day,  stopping to savor the moments that will never come back.
